Our brain is often faced with contrasting realities, those that test our reaction times to conflicting cognitive abilities. The exercise below, the so called “Stroop Effect” proves a tricky task that the brain has to decipher when reacting to conflicting cognitive abilities. This little task goes as follows: try to say each name of each colour for every word presented in the cloud below. You should only say the colour it is written in, try not to read the word itself, which actually is another colour for example if you see the word Green portrayed as red, then say ”red” and not “green”, as red indicates the colour, whereas green only the word.
It’s quite tricky and you will probably need to concentrate, otherwise you will find yourself making mistakes without even realising it.
